Background:
Mr. E is the code name given to
the leader of the underworld organization ENIGMA. The current Mr.
E, a young man in his late teens, inherited the position from his grandfather.
Under his command, ENIGMA never made any mistakes until the Mona Lisa fiasco,
where ENIGMA agents and their client were caught with the stolen painting
and the organization's existence was exposed to the world. Discovering
that Shirley, a descendant of the great Sherlock Holmes, was responsible,
Mr. E swore to rid himself of this budding detective he considered a threat
to his operations. His reasons for his hatred of Shirley go beyond
the Mona Lisa debacle, and only his top-ranked minions know why.
He controls all ENIGMA operations from the group's secret main headquarters
Shadow Axis and is always with Nigel, his elderly manservant, and Chimera,
his pet black cat.
Physical Appearance and Other
Traits:
Little is known about Mr. E's physical
appearance since no one on the right side of the law has ever seen him.
However, while he is at Shadow Axis, he wears a red-and-purple uniform
and cape. His eyes are covered by blue-tinted glasses, and his hands
are enclosed in purple gloves. His speech is marked with a British
accent.
Personality:
A brilliant young man with a cold,
ruthless personalty, Mr. E is adept in the art of manipulation and has
an understanding of the human mind. He views all people, including
his agents and Molly, as tools in the game of life and will use them in
any manner he chooses. Sadistic to a high degree, he enjoys the suffering
of people and even regards screaming as "beautiful music." Valuing
total control and perfection, he does not take failure well and is prone
to outbursts of anger directed at his underlings. He will employ
any means to eliminate people he sees as obstacles to his operations.
Relationships:
Mr. E is the unquestioned leader
of ENIGMA, and every agent is loyal to him, especially his butler Nigel
and the Elite Eight. Number One is deathly afraid of him. Mr.
E despises all those sworn to uphold the law, including Shirley Holmes.
Overall, all people are puppets to him. In fact, only Chimera seems
to receive any affection from him, and the only person he confides in is
Nigel.
Abilities and Paraphernalia:
Able to assess the strengths and
weaknesses of people, Mr. E can inspire fear into even the most hardened
person and develop plans to handle his enemies. Although not a field
agent, Mr. E is adept at using a variety of deadly weapons. Whether
or not he has other abilities is open to debate.
Mr. E possesses a collection of
weapons that includes hi-tech guns and katana swords.
HA's Comments:
Whoa, who knew a villain with perhaps
one of the most ridiculous names ever conceived would turn out to be one
of my popular characters? Maybe it's the whole Molly torture thing.
Mr. E is the result of blending
SPECTRE head Blofeld with the Riddler and samples of anime villains, and
it appears he works for my readers. In fact, ENIGMA came after Mr.
E, who was just supposed to be your average criminal mastermind with a
grudge against Shirley who carried out his schemes with the help of a small
group of thugs. He's definitely grown a lot since his initial conception.
