Background:
Her mother being an active member of the Redington Paranormal
Society, Susan March had an interest in the extremely strange ever since
she was a little girl, a trait that got her a membership with the Strangers'
Club. She was assigned by the group to find out more about Bart,
who was a potential candidate for membership. Along the way, Susan
became enamored with Sussex Academy's resident alien expert, and she secretly
hoped to meet him. She got her chance at the Harrison house rally,
and she became very pleased when Bart returned the feeling. Susan
sponsored his membership, and the two became a couple. She tries
her best to be with him on the club's cases, and when she can not, she
will make sure he stays out of harm's way.
Physical Appearance and Other Traits:
Susan has brown eyes and brown hair shaped into a blunt
cut. Like the rest of her family, she requires either glasses or
contact lenses to correct her nearsightedness (she chose the glasses).
She wears braces, and she has no problem with them. Her clothes are
usually hand-me-downs from her sister Samantha which sometimes prove to
be a little too big for her.
Personality:
A smart and friendly girl, Susan loves to read and look
into the unusual such as the paranormal and supernatural. She enjoys
researching the subject, although she endures much ridicule for her beliefs.
Like her mother, she exhibits bravery, especially when fighting for a good
cause, and she is not easily discouraged. Another aspect of her personality
is a bad temper, especially when someone is wronged, messing with Bart
and her friends, or being annoying. Any of these will more likely
result in bodily harm (Hiroshi will vouch for this).
Relationships:
Susan is on friendly terms with Shirley and her fellow
Strangers. Hiroshi has been a good friend of hers ever since they
were little. She and Bart share a strong bond, and she feels she
was in love with him before they met (she gave him her late father's wedding
ring as a sign of her love). Their relationship makes her do anything
to protect her boyfriend. She is very close to her family, although
her older brother Todd likes to tease her on her strange interests and
Bart.
Abilities and Paraphernalia:
Susan has no special abilities, but in the course of
her adventures with the Strangers, she has developed the ability to run
really fast and acquired some fighting moves which she hides from her mother.
Her standard weapon is a sonic boomer, and like all Strangers, she carries
a comlink. She wears a ring Bart gave her as a sign of their status
as a couple.
HA's Comments:
Ah, young love. I felt Bart deserved some form
of social life after I decided to make him an important part of my fanfic
world. So with the blessing of my imagination, I created a girl with
similar interests and paired her with him.
The tough part was coming up with a physical appearance
for Susan. I didn't want to create a girl who was too perfect for
Bart because she wouldn't fit in with him. I wanted to emphasize
that these two really had the hots for each other, so out of my old files,
I picked a girl with glasses and braces. As the old cliches go, love
is blind and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
